The Wheelie Good Guide was created by the ParaQuad Association of Tasmania. ParaQuad is a non-for-profit association that represents people living with a spinal cord injury and physical disability. This website aims to be a one stop shop providing information to wheelchair users travelling across the state about accessible accommodation, activities, events and transport. The past version of this website catered for accessible accommodation only, however when updating to the new website platform, it was decided to branch out across all facets of accessibility within Tasmania. ParaQuad Tasmania’s Access Coordinator, Richard Jones, states “As a wheelchair user myself, I understand that accessibility is more than just accommodation. I understand that people don’t want to come to Tasmania, just to sit in their hotel rooms. There is so much on offer that can be accessed via wheelchair around our great state… from National Parks to adventure boat rides.”
Users should note that this website is simply a guide and not specific to the individual wheelchair user as we understand that each person has different requirements. Please don’t hesitate to ask us questions via the above tab, however occasionally it may be easier to contact the accommodation or venue itself.
